About Us
Hi! I’m David Frampton, pastor of First Baptist Church since August
1995. I graduated from Grand Rapids Baptist College (now Cornerstone
College) in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and then I was a pastor in
upstate New York for many years. Besides being the pastor of FBC, I
also speak at Bible conferences and other churches. My wife Sharon
and I have three fine adult children, who live in the metro
Philadelphia area. We enjoy living in Newtown Square—a very
beautiful place in the world our Sovereign God has made.
We believe that God has provided the way for people to be right with
him through his one and only Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Being
declared right with God by grace through faith in Christ, the Lord
wants our lives to express obedience to his two great commands: to
love God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength and to love our
neighbors as ourselves. And the Lord Jesus Christ teaches us to love
one another as he has loved us. We firmly believe that Christians
should accept one another as Christ has accepted us (Romans 15:7),
and we seek to demonstrate the reality of God's love for us in
Christ. We also want everyone to enjoy "life together"—with the
living God and with each other.
The mission of our church is to make fully committed followers of
Jesus Christ, and we believe that the best way to accomplish
that mission is to preach and teach the truth of the Bible,
including what are called the
Doctrines of Grace and New Covenant
Theology . The ideas of our Baptist
heritage are also taught by us. But our chief purpose is always to proclaim
the Lord Jesus Christ (cf. Colossians 1:28-29)
