Frequently Asked Questions

Q.: Who is the leader of your church?

A: The Lord Jesus Christ. We seek to follow his final authority as written in the Bible.

Q.: Do you believe in truth?

A: Yes, we do, because we believe in an absolute, wise God, who has spoken truth to people, whom he created. The present denial of truth can be traced to the denial of the true and living God.

Q: Which translation of the Bible do you use?

A: We usually use the New International Version, since we think it is generally one of the best translations in current English. We believe the Lord wants people to hear his message in the language they use (cf. Nehemiah 8:8). We also use the English Standard Version, sometimes the updated New American Standard Version or the Holman Christian Standard Bible, and very rarely the New Living Translation.

Q: What Baptist denomination does your church belong to?

A: We do not currently belong to any denomination or association of churches. We are an independent congregation that fellowships with other churches that share our faith and practices.

Q: What kind of music do you use in your worship services?

A: We use both hymns and praise songs from all eras of English music. Our main concern is the message of the hymn or song and not the music style. We seek to worship God in our music and do not seek to make music an attractional event.

Q: How do people dress when attending your worship services?

A: People dress in various styles, from casual to dress clothes. This reflects the diversity that brings glory to God and shows our acceptance of one another for Christ's sake.

Q: How are your the gatherings of your church structured?

A: We think that a local gathering of Christ's followers should have a "big group" when all try to meet together for purposes of worship and unity and numerous "small groups" where people meet together to share life in Christ.
